Inspired by the bright tropical colors of the orange tree, this fun poncho works up fast and is sure to be a delight for a young girl, 8 - 12 years of age.
Even though I am a designer and create my own patterns, I enjoy mixing in some items from other designers. Their work often inspires me and teaches me new techniques. The poncho pictured here was crocheted by Patty Kubitzki. The original pattern is offered by Yarnspirations and can be found at this LINK.
Below I detail the specifics of how I used the pattern.
I used Caron One Pound yarn and an H hook (same as pattern).
Yarn colors: Living Coral, Peach, White, Pale Green, Aqua
Working instructions as per pattern, here are the rounds and colors used:
Rnds 1 - 4 = Living Coral
Rnds 5 - 6 = Peach
Rnds 7 - 10 = White
Rnds 11 - 12 Pale Green
Rnds 13 - 16 = Aqua
Rnds 17 - 20 = White
Rnds 21 - 22 = Peach
Rnds 23 - 25 = Living Coral
The drawstring ch was 170 ch in Peach.
For the tassels I used 1 strand each color held together and cut 3, 9" sections. (I actually wrapped it around the length of an Altoid can 3 times.)
The width of one side at the shoulder was 15"; the length from lower front neck to front bottom point was 21".
>>>To access the FREE pattern click on the word 'LINK' above and it will take you to the location to download the pattern. You will note after the 3rd Rnd you are to Repeat round 3 until it length measures 16" from the beginning. It might appear that the instructions end at round 3, but they don't :-)
I seem to be unable to post a comment or reply to comments made. :-(
